Residential Interior Demolition (Basement + Full House) — Scarborough
Project snapshot
- Location: Scarborough, Toronto (residential home)
- Duration: 3 days
- Crew: 4–5 workers
- Basement floor area: ~650 sq ft
- Goal: Full interior strip + basement slab removal to support a lowered basement conversion for future living space.

Scope of work
1) Full residential interior demolition
We completed a full interior teardown to prep for renovation:
- Removed all interior finishes and materials as scoped
- Pulled out heavy items and scrap (including cast-iron radiators and appliances)
- Sorted and staged debris for bin loading

2) Basement slab demolition + lowering prep
In the basement, the main scope was concrete:
- Basement concrete floor demolition: ~650 sq ft
- Concrete cutting in the basement to break the slab into manageable sections
- Loaded and hauled all broken concrete directly to bins
- Cleared the basement fully so the next phase (lowering/underpinning workflow) could proceed without delays

Debris handling (the part that makes or breaks residential demo)
- All demo debris and concrete were removed from the property
- Heavy scrap (radiators, appliances, etc.) was handled separately and loaded cleanly
- Concrete was segmented and carried out in controlled loads to keep the site safe and moving

Result
- House interior fully stripped and ready for rebuild
- Basement slab removed and cleared for the lowered-basement plan
- Concrete cut, broken, and hauled out with no drag on schedule
- Completed in 3 days with a 4–5 person crew

Residential Interior Demolition FAQ
What affects timeline, cost, and site logistics in basement-heavy demo.
Concrete cutting lets us control piece size, reduce chaos, and move material faster and safer—especially in basements.
