Interior Demolition (Full Strip-Out) — Newmarket

Project snapshot
- Location: Newmarket, ON
- Home type: Bungalow-style home with main floor + second floor + basement
- Area: ~2,500 sq ft (total)
- Duration: 5 days
- Crew: Similar staffing to a full-house strip-out (multi-day)
- Goal: Deliver a clean “shell” for renovation—interior demolition, haul-out, and a trade-ready handoff without debris bottlenecks.
What the client needed
The home was being prepped for a full renovation. The request was simple: remove everything that slows down the rebuild—finishes, contents, and heavy items—so the next trades can start immediately. This is where interior demolition is more than just “demo”: it’s sequencing + logistics + cleanup.

Scope of work (what we removed)
1) Full interior demolition across all levels
We completed interior demolition on:
- Main floor
- Second floor
- Basement

Typical strip-out items included:
- Floor coverings (carpet/underlayment and related materials)
- Interior finishes and fixtures as scoped
- Mirrors and miscellaneous interior elements
2) Contents removal (including old appliances)
This house wasn’t empty. We also handled contents removal, including:
- Old appliances (hauled out and loaded for disposal)
- Remaining furniture and household items that needed to be cleared before rebuild
This matters because leaving “contents” behind creates delays and extra trips for the owner/GC. We treated it as part of the interior demolition workflow: clear → demo → clean.

How we ran the job (the part owners don’t see)
Controlled haul-out + bin workflow
Interior demolition in a multi-level home can get messy fast if you don’t control material flow. Our approach:
- Continuous haul-out so debris doesn’t pile up inside the home
- Clear pathways and organized staging points
- Large-bin loading planned around volume, so the project stays moving day to day

Safety & site discipline
We kept the work organized and safe:
- Debris managed in predictable runs
- Work zones kept clear to reduce trip hazards
- Heavy items (like appliances) removed with controlled handling
Cleanup & handoff
At the end of demolition, we did a full vacuum + clean-up so the site is workable for the next trades. The goal is not “demo done”, the goal is “ready for renovation.”

Result
- Full interior demolition completed across the entire home (~2,500 sq ft)
- Contents cleared, including old appliances
- Site cleaned and handed off ready for rebuild
- Completed in 5 days with a controlled, no-chaos workflow
